Regular Activities

The NSS Unit, Krishnagar Govt. College has performed various social service related activities inside and outside the college campus as regular activities in the session of 2015-16. The Activities performed in this session was given below:

Flood Relief Camp at Nabadwip:

NSS Unit Nabadwip Jatiya Vidyalaya For Girls Nabadwip Vidyasagar College

In August’2015 some of the places of Nadia district had been very badly affected by flood water. Nabadwip was one of the badly affected places. Flood affected people of Nabadwip had taken shelter in some flood relief camps set up by local and district administrations.
NSS volunteers of our college collected donations and relief materials from students and teachers of our college to help the flood prone people and we requested Shri Vijay Bharti, District Magistrate of Nadia to add some more materials for distribution among the affected people. Shri Bharti arranged some cloths, sufficient food materials and water pouch to distribute by NSS volunteers. Beside these he also arranged two vehicles to carry the maerials.
In the morning of 13.08.2015 we went with the relief materials with a representative of Nadia district administration to Nabadwip Municipality and request the Chairman of Nabadwip Municipality to inform the local peoples about our plan. Then we went with NSS volunteers and distributed the relief materials to nearly 1700 flood prone people taken shelter at three relief camps Nabadwip Vidyasagar College, Nabadwip Jatiya Vidyalaya for Girls and Nabadwip Jatiya Vidyalaya for Boys.

Rally to Motivate people to Enroll their Name in Electoral Roll:

Our NSS volunteers participated in a rally organized by Election Commission Cell of Nadia District from office of District Magistrate of Nadia district to Krishnagar Town Club on 23.09.2015 to motivate peoples of 18 year of age to enrol their name in the voter list.

 

 

 

 

College Campus Cleaning and Dustbin Installation Programme:

NSS Unit, Krishnagar Govt. College taken a campus cleaning and dustbin installation programme on 17.01.2016. Our NSS volunteers bought thirty tins and sufficient colours and coloured tins to use as dustbins on 16.01.2016. Then in the morning of 17.01.2016 at 10 a.m. our volunteers cleaned the campus and installed dustbin in the campus.

Voluntary Blood Donation Camp:

NSS Unit, Krishnagar Govt. College taken a campus cleaning and dustbin installation programme on 17.01.2016. Inauguration and Health awareness campaign (14.03.2016):

At morning 10 am our volunteers (50) of NSS Unit reached at Natun Shambhunagar Primary School. The Headmistress of school inaugurated the camp with candle lighting. An inaugural song was sung by NSS volunteers. The Headmistress, Mr. Shasim Shankar Pramanick, President of Ruipukur Gram Panchayet, Mrs. Pratima Halder, health centre attendant and Assistant Mistress of the school were welcomed with flower bouquet and memento. They delivered short lectures appreciating our past camp and assured any kind of help for the betterment of the camp. NSS volunteers hang various flex with message of health consciousness.
In the second half of the camp NSS Program officer and health centre attendant delivered their lecture on health awareness. In this program a health awareness related song was sung by childrens of primary school.

Health survey (15.03.2016):

After reaching the village at around 10 am, the volunteers are divided into 10 groups and were provided with health survey questionnaire for surveying in the village. After surveying they submitted the filled questionnaire to Program officer.

Primary school campus cleaning and dustbin distribution (16.03.2016):

In the morning at 10 am our NSS volunteers reached at village with two dustbins and 10 brooms. Then the volunteers are divided into two groups and instructed to clean respective portions assigned to each group. After cleaning the campus two dustbins were gifted to the Headmistress of the primary school by Dr. Santanu Chakraborty, Officer-in-Charge, Krishnagar Govt. College.

Free health heck-up of children by a paediatrician(17.03.2016):

On 17.03.2016 at 11am, Dr. Sujit Biswas, a renowned child specialist reached at our camp and he was welcomed by a bouquet. Then he checked health of 44 children and prescribed medicine. Our NSS volunteers collected prescriptions and bought medicines from reputed pharmacy of Krishnagar.

 

 

Medicine distribution(18.03.2016):

We, with our volunteers reached the Primary school and distributed medicines as per prescription. Patient party are guided by details instruction for taking medicine.

 

 

 

Health centre cleaning programme(19.03.2016):

Our NSS volunteers reached the health centre of the village with broom and dustbin and cleaned the health centre.

 

 

 

Hand washing day celebration and Valediction (20.03.2016):

We reached the Primary school at 10 am with chicken for school children and hand over the same to the cook of mid-day meal of the school. Then we called children of the school at our camp and Dr. Sujit Ghosh, NSS program officer and Headmistress of the school lectured about the good habit of hand washing. Then a symbolic hand washing program was held at the camp.
Some villagers and Headmistress are asked for suggestions for betterment of the camp. They appreciated our programs and asked help for sitting arrangement of the school children. We assured them about the sitting arrangement. Then NSS program officer thanked to all the volunteers, Headmistress and villagers for the help to make the camp successful.
